Brief Introduction to the NO.4 Pumping Station The NO.4 Pumping Station is the largest one in four electric pumping stations, it was started in Nov.1973, and was completed in mar.1977, with 7 vertical synchronous motors and its total installed capacity of 21.000KW and pumping capacity of 210cms, the diameter of the pump is 3.1m, the lifting distance is 7m. So far, the four electric pumping stations、12 water dams、 3 boat locks、2 culverts、2 fish ladders and transformer substation、 many diverting and draining channels have been built to constitute the Jiangdu Water Conservancy Project. It has many multi-functions such as irrigation、flood discharge、drainage、hydraulic electric power、regulating the water level for shipping、 supplying the water for daily life and industry、for scrubbing the saline-alkali soil and flushing the silts to protect ports at coastal reclamation area in Jiangsu Province. Since the project was built, it has made the vast contributions for development of national economy in Jiangsu Province.
